Put-on/Put-off Lesson 1 – Ephesians 4:25-32 – April 18, 2021

This week’s lesson is a little delayed. Thank you for understanding. I took some time to pray and process where to go next. The Bible is full of so many wonderful lessons and I just want to do them all. In due time.

So now that we know Jesus died for us, rose again, and we should share the good news… let’s talk about put-ons and put-offs. The Bible has many passages that discuss what we should stop doing (put-off) and what we should start doing (put-on) as Christians. Oh sometimes we just don’t feel like starting or stopping those behaviors, but feelings are something that we cannot live by. Feelings definitely can be an indicator of what is happening in our heart, but they shouldn’t direct our behaviors. (Easier said than done, I completely know!) I didn’t cover that in this lesson, but will try to unpack that later is this series.

This passage is full of put-ons and put-offs! I underestimated how much was really in this passage and took longer to think through some of this than I anticipated.

However, I hope this lesson and the ones over the next few weeks help guide you as your teach your kiddos about how we should live as people who follow Christ.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted,  forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.  Ephesians 4:32
